How do I write about the culmination of this project without falling into the obvious clichés about birth…
My book baby is born, it’s amazing to finally hold it in my hands, it’s my labour of love…
You get it.
The words that I’m really searching for, however, seem difficult to come by in the flurry of emotions that are whirling around in my body. How can I describe the feeling of finally crossing the finish line after years, and I mean literally YEARS, of process to get here?
If I sit still and really pay attention, the answer is just one word: Joy
The joy that comes with a job done. The joy that comes with looking back at the road travelled and seeing the lessons you’re learned from mistakes you’ve, the moments life threw you a bone and most importantly the people who walked the path with you and all the beautiful ways in which they helped you move forward.
So, today I am joyful. Joyful to finally share this work with you, which represents the artistry and hard-work of so many wonderful people.
